Synopsis
Taking a position at a prestigious all-girls academy as a new teacher, Mahiru Narukawa finds the power dynamics inside that school get complicated fast. What starts as a straightforward setup, new faculty member, established student hierarchy, quickly shifts into something more psychologically charged as she gets entangled with students like Saeka Arisugawa and Kazuha Kusunoki. The lines between authority and submission, professional distance and personal closeness, blur pretty deliberately here. This is a 2-episode OVA from PoRO, adapted from a Bishop visual novel, so if you're familiar with that studio's work, you already have a rough sense of what you're walking into. The character designs are detailed and expressive, and the animation holds up well for the format. It leans into the tension between roles: teacher, student, who holds actual power in a given moment, rather than just using the setting as window dressing. If you've watched Shoujo Sect and appreciated how that handled relationships within a closed academic environment, or if Bible Black's intensity appealed to you, this sits in similar territory. It's not a slow burn exactly, but it's not purely surface-level either. The school setting does real work in establishing the atmosphere. Two episodes means it doesn't overstay its welcome, and the visual novel source gives the character interactions a bit more texture than you'd expect from something this short.

Spica trying her best while everything goes wrong is actually so funny and the magic system looks great
Claude being a grumpy cat made the premiere and those interactions with Arya were so funny
the fight scenes were really well animated and it felt so much better seeing actual drawings instead of a bunch of bad cgi during the hero battle
I can already tell Spica is going to be my favorite because her energy is just infectious and she reminds me so much of the best parts of Juliet, the whole premise with Claude being a cat and needing a kiss to change back is ridiculous, but the comedy is handled so well that I didn't even mind the absurdity
That cat needing a kiss to turn back into a human was the weirdest twist but it fit the tone perfectly
I really missed this author since Juliet and the comedy style in this first episode felt just like home
this looks so much more like the manga than the novel and the animation quality is surprisingly high for a show like this
wait for the second episode is going to be a pain because that intro with the hero and the demon king was actually cool
It took me a bit to get used to how Earnest sounds, but the plot about a legendary hero going back to school is actually pretty fun so far.
claire looked so goofy at the start but she got better by the end and the whole episode was surprisingly better than i thought it would be
everyone is talking about the nudity but the barbie doll bodies were just weird to look at and i wonder if the manga was actually like that
blade is alright but his voice is not my cup of tea at all and claire had such a dopey looking face for the first half of the episode
I went in expecting something generic, but the lack of steam censors caught me off guard even if everyone looked like a barbie doll. The fight choreography was actually really well animated and I liked that they stuck to the manga art style instead of the light novel look. It is a solid start for a classic hero story.
blade trying to make friends after fighting the demon king is the kind of vibe i need in my life and his priorities are exactly where they should be
animation was actually decent and the fight scenes looked way better than i thought they would especially with the old school style and no ugly cgi stuff

I got really curious when Horikita brought up her brother because there is clearly some heavy family history making her act so cold to everyone else
You see the teacher drop the act and tell everyone they have zero points and it really changed how the whole school feels for the rest of the year
Ayanokouji is giving off major Hachiman vibes with his internal monologues and his bored face makes you wonder what he is planning since he didn't waste his points
I thought the school was just super rich but finding out they went broke because they spent everything on junk was hilarious and messed up at the same time
