📖 SYNOPSIS

"In This Corner (and Other Corners) of the World" follows Suzu, a somewhat clumsy and daydreaming girl from the outskirts of Hiroshima in the 1930s. Suzu, an avid sketch artist, is arranged to marry a man in Kure, a city with a large naval base, in 1943. There, she begins a new life with a new family, facing the hardships of the Pacific War. The film explores her experiences and the challenges of wartime life. The story expands beyond Suzu's perspective, including scenes with Rin, whom Suzu crosses paths with in 1944 and 1945. The film also depicts the Makurazaki Typhoon of September 1945, during which Suzu worries for her younger sister Sumi. The film aims to portray multiple lives and perspectives, adapting more scenes from the original manga.
