πŸ“– SYNOPSIS

At the center of a tangled love triangle β€” or maybe a love square β€” sits Tohru Nagase, just a regular high school guy whose situation keeps getting more complicated by the episode. His classmate Miko has feelings for him, and her best friend Mizuho is doing everything she can to step back and let that happen, even as her own emotions start getting in the way. Then a younger student, Ai, enters the picture and throws whatever fragile balance existed completely out the window. Nobody's the villain here. Everyone's just a teenager trying to figure out what they feel without hurting the people they care about. That's genuinely the hard part to watch β€” the friendship between Mizuho and Miko is warm and real, and you can feel the strain as the situation gets messier. At only 4 episodes, it doesn't overstay its welcome. The late-90s art style has that soft, slightly melancholic look that fits the mood perfectly β€” think less glossy modern romance and more quietly emotional. If you liked the slow-burn drama of Peach Girl or the friendship-versus-feelings tension in First Kiss Story, this hits a similar nerve. It's based on a visual novel, so the character dynamics feel layered rather than rushed. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you're in the mood for a short, genuine slice of youthful heartache done with care, it's worth the time.

❌ SKIP IF...

Traditional gender dynamics common in 90s anime tend to put you off quickly
You need more than 4 episodes to actually connect with a romantic drama's characters
