A must watch for the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress fans! This movie had great animation as expected of studio Wit. The action is fast paced, the soundtrack is mesmerizing, and the story is decently paced. I especially loved the dynamic between Mumei and Ikoma. Overall satisfying!
This one really steps up the action. It leans more into strategy, which adds a nice layer beyond just fights. The character moments feel a bit more grounded, and the snowy setting gives it a distinct mood. A strong continuation with solid payoff.
If you are here after watching the anime then you are in the wrong place, watch the 2 previous movies first. The art of the characters is very inconsistent like it's clashing with the consistently beautiful environment art. The animation is consistently great, same with the anime and the previous movies. The story is good although there isn't any significant plot advancement. The soundtrack is excellent as expected of Hiroyuki Sawano. It isn't great nor mid but if I have to choose then it leans more on mid because the character art keeps on bothering me all throughout the movie and there's no significant plot advancement in the story.
SIX MONTHS LATER! 🚂 The Iron Fortress rolls into the snowy Unato castle town and the vibes are immaculate! Ikoma’s "Kabane-sense" is tingling—he knows these monsters are acting way too smart. The tactical setup for this siege is insane. Wit Studio animation is GOATED! ❄️🔥🚂
