📖 SYNOPSIS

"Julie the Wild Rose" follows eleven-year-old Julie Braun, who lives in the picturesque mountain pastures of Austria's Southern Tyrol. Her idyllic life is shattered when Italian soldiers kill her parents, forcing her to relocate to Vienna. There, she is taken in by her relatives, the Clementes, including Uncle Karl, Aunt Klara, and cousins Johan and Tanya. Julie finds it difficult to adjust to her new surroundings and family dynamics. As Austria becomes embroiled in World War I, Julie's uncle is fired from his job at a glass factory, plunging the family into financial hardship.
