"Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night" follows four young women navigating the complexities of self-discovery in Shibuya. Mahiru Kozuki, an illustrator; Kano Yamanouchi, a former idol; Kiui Watase, a Vtuber; and Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi, a composer, are all slightly outside the mainstream. United by a shared desire to find what they enjoy and to shine, they create JELEE, an anonymous artist group. The series explores themes of identity, belonging, and the power of collaboration as these women strive to express themselves and find their place in the world, believing that their collective efforts will allow them to shine brighter than they could alone. The story unfolds against the backdrop of Shibuya's late-night streets, a city brimming with diverse identities.
