The Devil's Virgins
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Deep in the mountains, an isolated village becomes the backdrop for a monster hunter certification gone immediately wrong, as exorcists-in-training arrive and things unravel almost from the start. Mikoto and Takeru Shiratori are siblings who've spent their lives learning to hunt Youma — malevolent supernatural creatures rooted in Japanese mythology. Their friend Yamato joins them, and the three push through brutal training deep in the mountains. Then Yamato starts changing in ways nobody can explain, and the horror shifts from the creatures outside to something far closer. The village setting has that classic folk-horror claustrophobia — cut off, steeped in old traditions, and clearly hiding something. Studio Fantasia leans into the supernatural tension here, pulling from the original visual novel's darker character dynamics. The relationship between Mikoto, Takeru, and Yamato carries the weight of the story, and watching that trust get tested as Yamato's transformation progresses gives it genuine stakes beyond the creature-feature setup. At only two episodes, it moves quickly and doesn't waste time on setup. If you've watched something like Bible Black or Discipline: The Record of a Crusade and appreciated when hentai OVAs actually bother with atmosphere and character groundwork, this fits that same space. It's not trying to be subtle about what it is, but the mythology-drenched horror framing gives it more texture than most entries in the genre. Worth the two-episode runtime if supernatural body-horror with folkloric roots sounds like your thing.
