Interspecies Reviewers
Oshimeter
Synopsis
What happens when a group of adventurers visits brothels staffed by fantasy creatures and writes detailed reviews afterward? That's the premise, and it commits fully to the bit. In a world where elves, fairies, succubi, and slimes all coexist, two companions — Stunk, a human, and Zel, an elf — have wildly different tastes in women, which makes for surprisingly entertaining arguments about what actually counts as attractive across species lines. They publish their findings like a consumer guide, and the joke is that the show treats this absurd project with complete sincerity. When a fallen angel named Crimvael gets stranded in the mortal world due to a broken halo and joins the group, things get even more complicated in ways the show handles with a straight face and genuine comedic timing. This is very much an adult TV series — no ambiguity there — but the humor comes from world-building and character dynamics more than shock value. The fantasy setting is genuinely creative, and the comedy has actual structure to it. If you watched Monster Musume or Rosario to Vampire and thought those shows were too timid, this goes considerably further. If Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs felt like your ceiling, know that this is well past that line. It ran 12 episodes in 2020 from studio Passione, adapted from a web manga, and it knows exactly what it is. That self-awareness is most of why it works.
