"In The Beginning: The Bible Stories" presents an animated interpretation of biblical tales, born from a unique collaboration. The Italian National Broadcasting Network, acting on behalf of the Vatican, commissioned Osamu Tezuka to bring the Bible to life through animation. This project was particularly intriguing, given Tezuka's non-Christian background. Tezuka dedicated two years to creating a pilot film, focusing on the story of Noah's Ark. He was deeply involved, writing the scenario and personally drawing the visuals. Tragically, Tezuka passed away during production. Director Dezaki stepped in to complete the film, ensuring its eventual realization. The anime explores the biblical narrative through the lens of Tezuka's artistic vision.
