Synopsis
After clocking out of her office job each day, Keiko Sahara fills her evenings painting gel nails as a hobby. Pretty normal, right? Then she gets isekai'd into a world where magic literally runs through your fingertips — and the people who cast spells do it by painting enchanted materials onto nails. Suddenly her weekend hobby is the most relevant skill she's ever had. Keiko ends up apprenticing under Rocco, an eccentric master sorcerer, alongside his apprentice Hou and her nail painting mentor Lido. The story is less about epic battles and more about Keiko figuring out her place in a new world through craft and daily work. Think less "chosen one saves the kingdom" and more "woman finds her footing in a weird magical trade she's oddly qualified for." The magic system itself is genuinely creative — spells depend on technique, materials, and design, so Keiko's eye for nail art actually matters in ways that feel earned rather than convenient. If you liked how Ascendance of a Bookworm turned a niche obsession into an isekai survival strategy, or how Restaurant to Another World made something cozy out of a fantasy premise, this hits a similar groove. It's a workplace fantasy at heart, with the isekai framing giving Keiko's ordinary skills new meaning. The vibe is engaging without being frantic — it's about learning, relationships, and finding purpose through something you're genuinely passionate about. Based on a manga, so there's source material to dig into if the story clicks with you.
