Synopsis

Filmmaking is Junpei Manaka's one true dream, and he lives and breathes it. He's also surrounded by four very different girls who all have some claim on his attention, and he has absolutely no idea what he's doing romantically. That's been the whole ride since the TV series, and this four-episode OVA from Madhouse just keeps that energy going with some looser, sillier side stories. We're talking a spring festival with cosplay chaos, Junpei sneaking into an all-girls school to return a notebook, summer part-time work that goes sideways, and an episode literally titled around strawberry underwear. It's exactly as unserious as it sounds. The cast is what makes it work — Aya is the quiet literary girl, Tsukasa is confident and a little intimidating, Satsuki is the loud athletic one, and Yui is the childhood friend who's been there forever. Each one pulls Junpei in a different direction, and watching him fumble through it is genuinely funny rather than frustrating. Two new characters also show up here, so there's some fresh material even if you've seen everything before. If you're into shows like Love Hina or To Love-Ru where the harem chaos is played for laughs rather than drama, this fits right in. It's light, it's a little raunchy, and it doesn't take itself seriously for a second. Best watched after the TV series and the Jump Festa OVA — this is the dessert, not the main course.
