I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Dreaming of becoming a hero and vanquishing the Demon King, Raul Chaser enters the Hero Training Program in pursuit of his ambition. However, when the Demon King is defeated and peace returns to the world, the Hero Training Program is suspended indefinitely, making it impossible for anyone to become a hero. Two years later, Raul reluctantly works at a small electronics store called Magic Shop Leon. Though the former hero-in-training is plagued by the mundanity of working in retail, everything changes with the arrival of a new hire. Appearing at first to be just a boy with good looks, "he" turns out to be a female demon by the name of Fino Bloodstone. She is not just any old demon either—Raul's new coworker is in fact the daughter of the late Demon King! Handed the responsibility of training this eccentric new employee, Raul soon finds his life becoming livelier than it ever was before.

Makin kesini makin keliatan betapa naif nya sang MC.
Simple tapi efektif cara mengembangkan karakternya wkwk.
The setup is pretty hilarious: this dude spends his whole youth training to become a capital-H Hero, slay the Demon King, save the kingdom, the whole thing. He's ready. Except someone else defeats the big bad literally right before his final hero exam. Suddenly the entire hero program gets shut down, the economy tanks (turns out "hero" was a legit career with benefits), and now he's just another unemployed guy with a useless skill set. He becomes a shut-in for a bit, then lands a job at this magic appliance store — basically fantasy Best Buy where they sell enchanted refrigerators instead of electronics. He's miserable, overqualified, and dealing with customers who want to return cursed items. Super relatable. Things get interesting when a new hire shows up — the actual daughter of the Demon Lord who just got defeated. She's completely clueless about human society, has zero filter, and is weirdly enthusiastic about learning retail. Also, she's stacked. Like, aggressively anime-protagonist stacked. The dynamic between the jaded failed hero and the demon lord's daughter is genuinely fun. She's got this chaotic energy — she wants to become the next Demon Lord someday but right now she needs to learn how to use a cash register. There's actual character development buried in here, which is more than you expect from something with this much fanservice. The ecchi is aggressive. We're talking bare breasts every few minutes, accidental groping, magical wardrobe malfunctions, the whole deal. If that's not your thing, no shame, but bounce now. The weird thing is, underneath all the boob physics, there's a decent workplace comedy here. The whole "post-hero economy" premise is genuinely clever — like, what happens to all the swordsmiths and armor shops when the big bad is dead? The show touches on economic collapse, unemployment, and finding purpose when your dream dies. Heavy stuff for a series where a demon girl gets her clothes melted off by acid slimes. The main guy is fine — he's your standard "nice dude who trained too hard for a dream that died." But the demon daughter carries the show. Her fish-out-of-water moments, her weird customs clashing with retail culture, her genuine sweetness underneath all the bravado — she's the reason to keep watching. Everyone else is just filling out harem tropes and contributing to the fanservice quota. The show peaks early. Around the later episodes, they try to force an actual plot with some conspiracy about bringing back the Demon Lord, and it falls flat. The action scenes are budget as hell — clearly the studio spent all their money on animating jiggle physics, not sword fights. The ending feels rushed too, like they ran out of time and just wrapped everything up quickly. Visually, it's bright and colorful. Nothing groundbreaking, but the character designs pop and the magic shop setting gets decent detail. The soundtrack is just kind of there — upbeat and bouncy, fits the vibe, but you won't remember it later. This is what it is — a fanservice-heavy comedy with a surprisingly solid premise and one genuinely likable lead character. If you can tolerate (or enjoy) the ecchi, there's a fun little workplace anime underneath. If accidental nudity every five minutes makes you want to die, skip it. This one commits to its bit. It's dumb, it's horny, it's occasionally heartfelt, and it's a decent way to kill an afternoon if you're in the mood for something that requires zero brain cells. Perfectly average, occasionally funny, and the demon girl deserves better than this show but also carries it entirely on her back — pun intended.
It's the action and conclusion. Overall, it's fine. Its strong points are the relatable scenes of working in a shop and the great animation. As for the hero-villain plot, it's pretty predictable, so you'll likely know how it ends for Raul and Phino. Still, I enjoyed most of it, especially the slice-of-life episodes.
This part is hilarious, but it feels rushed. One good point is their rationale for why they need a Demon Lord. It's simple, but it makes sense, and the principle applies to different contexts. For instance, this overused saying "we need war so people can see the value of peace and life." At first, it reads twisted, eventually, it makes some sense.
Okay, after all those episodes, it's finally here - the main dish. The plot is simple, but it works just fine for me. I think this series just has a nice style of narration that makes it enjoyable to watch until the end.
This one had at least a little mystery, like something serious was finally going to happen in the main plot, or so I thought.
Phino's laugh is infectious. I loved it and enjoyed imitating it. This scene turned out well because I found myself smiling while watching it.
This episode reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist. It's getting close to the ending, and I can't help but feel like the story is still stuck in transition. Is this heading toward Raul becoming a hero, or is the real point about true-to-life experiences working in a shop. I don't think the series has fully figured that out yet.
The declaration of war was pretty cringe, and the Sales Manager had the right reaction. This time, they expanded the story beyond the shop, which was a nice change of pace.
The store's design is beautiful and well-organized. It looks like it was modeled after a real retail store. I also liked how this episode touched on sales, grand openings, and business competition.
