On the surface, Hikaru Amagi is a pretty ordinary high school girl with a mad scientist for a dad, who spends her days crushing on an upperclassman and watching her favorite superhero show with her best friend. Then she finds out she's the last heir to a royal bloodline from an alien planet, and suddenly her normal life gets a lot more complicated. Turns out she's been unknowingly connected to a powerful legendary armor this whole time, and there are people — well, beings — who very much want it. This is a short three-episode OVA from 1997, so it moves quickly. The tone is light and comedic, leaning into the absurdity of a teenage girl suddenly inheriting cosmic responsibility while still worrying about school and her love life.
