📖 SYNOPSIS

"Hato yo: Hiroshima no Sora wo" depicts the aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima through the eyes of a young middle school boy. The boy, an avid breeder of carrier pigeons, was outside the city training his birds when the bomb detonated. The anime follows his harrowing journey back into the ravaged city, now a landscape of fire and destruction. He is desperately searching for his mother, separated from him by the tragedy. Simultaneously, his prized pigeon, also separated from its young, undertakes its own desperate search. The anime explores themes of loss, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family, both human and animal, in the face of unimaginable devastation. The story is based on a book of the same name.
