".hack//Intermezzo" follows Mimiru and Bear as they navigate the virtual world of 'The World', a multiplayer online role-playing game. They participate in an event within the Dungeon of Nankoflank. During their adventure, Mimiru confides in Bear that her motivation for playing isn't the rewards or leveling up, but rather the cherished memories and experiences from when she first began playing the game. Their journey continues as they encounter Mimika, and the three characters team up to complete various quests and events together. Through these shared experiences, Mimiru begins to understand the deeper significance and meaning that 'The World' holds for her.
