GREEN-RED
Oshimeter
Synopsis
"GREEN-RED" is a short animated film centered around a photograph of a seated heterosexual couple. The couple, depicted nude save for their long necklaces, is the sole subject of the animation. The film's premise revolves around a single, continuous shot: a fixed camera begins zoomed in on a detail of the couple, likely an arm or limb. Over the course of twelve minutes, the camera slowly zooms outwards. This gradual expansion of the frame progressively reveals more of the couple's bodies, culminating in a full view. The animation is further characterized by subtle shifts in color as the camera zooms, adding a layer of visual complexity to the extended take. The film was screened at the 3rd Sogetsu Animation Festival in 1971.
