Synopsis
A devout pilgrim traveling between holy sites, Anvil strengthens her faith one shrine at a time. Then goblins happen. What starts as a straightforward fantasy journey turns into something far darker when she's ambushed and dragged into a goblin nest, and not just any nest, but one crawling with hobgoblins, goblin lords, and a whole hierarchy of creatures that have no interest in letting her leave. Don't let the fantasy pilgrimage setup fool you. this gets grim fast, and it leans into that darkness deliberately. The 4-episode OVA from studio Majin, based on a game, puts real effort into building out goblin society as an actual ecosystem rather than just window dressing. There's a sense of internal structure to the nest that gives the whole thing a more immersive, unsettling weight than you'd expect. If you've watched Kuroinu or Knight of Erin and appreciated how those series used their dark fantasy settings to create genuine atmosphere rather than just going through the motions, Goblin no Suana scratches a similar itch. Fans of Renseijutsushi Collet no H na Shibo Shirage Monogatari who like their fantasy hentai with some actual world-building will find something to appreciate here too. The animation holds up well enough to make the fantasy setting feel lived-in. It's a short watch, four episodes, so it doesn't overstay its welcome. Go in knowing the tone upfront and it delivers on what it's going for.

I really love this anime show it makes me hard just watching it

Watching Anvil go from a hopeful traveler to that broken state was rough, but I like how the episode didn't pull any punches
The way the pilgrim got dragged into that hole was terrifying and the screams and the audio made it feel too real
I felt sick seeing what happened to Anvil and it fits the dark tone the studio wanted for this show
That scene in the nest was way more graphic than anything in goblin slayer and it really shows how nasty those creatures are
the animation during the final scene in the burrow had a lot of weight to it and the art style stays very faithful to the peperoncino illustrations
the pilgrim trying to fight off the swarm with just a dagger was intense, but then she realized she was trapped in that small crawlspace and it was terrifying
it was hard for me to watch some parts of the capture and i think the pacing felt a bit rushed once they got her back to the nest
the sound design when the pilgrim was screaming in the cave added so much to the atmosphere and made the whole thing feel way more desperate
watching the pilgrim lose her gear piece by piece while trying to escape the burrow was pretty intense but the ending felt a bit abrupt even for a first episode
those shots of the goblin lair made me feel so claustrophobic when she was being dragged deeper into the tunnels
that anvil scene lived up to the name of the episode and it felt super dark seeing how the goblins used the environment against her
The production value on this was surprisingly high for the genre, especially during the forest sequence when the tension was building up before the capture happened. It was uncomfortable watching the pilgrim struggle against the restraints and knowing what was coming next, but the art style really captured that grim feeling of the original game perfectly without feeling cheap
i was impressed by the designs for the pilgrim and her armor but it was rough seeing her get overwhelmed so fast by the swarm in the cave
that first goblin ambush in the woods was so brutal and the animation on the traps actually looked way better than expected for a short ova
The switch from a peaceful pilgrimage to that absolute nightmare in the cave happened so fast and it really highlights how dangerous this world is without a hero around. Seeing Anvil get treated like nothing more than a tool for reproduction by those creatures was genuinely difficult to watch but it definitely sets a dark tone for the rest of the series
