Synopsis
His thirties were spent doing exactly what a responsible adult does: working hard, staying focused, keeping his head down. As a high school teacher, romance was never part of the equation for him. Then one of his students, Sae Inagaki, offers to cook for him, and before long she's telling him she's in love with him. That's where things get complicated. This 2-episode OVA from Studio Eromatick, adapted from a visual novel, leans into the tension of that forbidden dynamic: a teacher who's spent his whole life avoiding emotional entanglement suddenly faced with genuine affection coming from exactly the wrong direction. The story doesn't try to resolve that discomfort quickly. It sits with it. Sae isn't just a plot device; she's written as capable and emotionally articulate, which makes the whole situation feel weightier than you might expect from a short-form release. The tone is quieter and more character-focused than the genre usually delivers, less about shock value, more about two people navigating a situation that probably shouldn't be happening. If you've watched something like Shojo Sect and appreciated when these kinds of stories take the relationship dynamics even a little seriously, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Dear Brother who are curious about more adult takes on emotionally charged forbidden relationships might also find something here worth sitting with. It's a short watch, and it knows what it is.

twili_287★★★★☆EP 1the kitchen scene felt way more intimate than expected and the art style is actually really solid
fukase_firefly★★★☆☆EP 1The pacing in this first episode was actually pretty surprising, and Sae is just so much more confident than I expected her to be. The way she transitioned from cooking a meal to just straight up saying she loves him caught me off guard, and you can tell Youichi has been waiting his whole life for something like this
gendo_ikari_182★★★☆☆EP 1Youichi acting so clueless in his thirties when he has all these hidden kinks is kind of a lot and the student teacher thing is always a bit much
sailor_chibi_moon_396★★★★☆EP 1watching Sae take the lead like that was surprising and she really knows what she wants from her teacher
yoruichi_yukiko★★★★☆EP 1Sae making that sudden transition from cooking him a meal to saying she loves him really caught me off guard and her confidence is on another level
kanarazu_kami_72★★★★☆EP 1the forbidden romance aspect is handled exactly how you would expect and Sae being so devoted makes the whole teacher student setup feel a bit more earned
rana_rhapsody_503★★★☆☆EP 1Sae bringing him food and then just dropping the confession was such a bold move and she really carries this whole first episode
professor_magnolia_334★★★★☆EP 1I think the teacher/student thing is a bit overdone and Youichi having all these secret kinks after being single forever feels like a reach for his character
cere_cere_388★★★☆☆EP 1having Sae focus all that attention on Youichi after he spent his whole life working was kind of nice and she is a top tier student character
pamelas_father_280★★★★☆EP 1Sae being so athletic and smart makes her seem like she could do way better, but you can see how much she actually cares about Youichi in those quiet moments before things get heavy
ranga_rover★★★★☆EP 1I wasn't sure what to expect from an older series like this, but Sae is actually really sweet and her dedication to Youichi makes the relationship feel a bit more grounded than usual. The transition from her just cooking for him to full on confession was sudden, but it works for a short OVA and the voice acting for Sae is really good
tsunade_titan★★★★☆EP 1I liked that Sae was the one who went for it first and that scene in the kitchen felt so genuine for this kind of show
yosuzume_yurei★★★☆☆EP 1the teacher being in his thirties and never having a girlfriend before makes the whole thing feel a bit weird but the animation for Sae is decent enough
naofumi_naysayer_149★☆☆☆☆EP 1it feels way too fast when Sae just declares her love after making a meal and the character designs are pretty generic for 2015
toby_lvl22★★★★☆EP 1you can tell Sae is totally devoted to him and that cooking scene was a nice way to start their whole secret deal
popthatcorn14★★★☆☆EP 1that transition from her being a helpful student to her suddenly declaring her love is the kind of stuff you only see in these types of shows and it hit hard
raiju_rider★★★★☆EP 1you can really tell he was lonely for a long time and sae stepping in to fill that void makes the whole forbidden aspect feel a lot more personal
kittan_bachika_188★★★★☆EP 1sae pushing her way into his life with those home cooked meals made me feel for him, especially since he spent his whole life alone before her
blue★★★☆☆EP 1seeing a teacher in his thirties finally get some attention from a student who actually cares about him like that is a wild way to start a series
