Gelpiyo
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Jiggly, rubbery little blobs — a whole squad of them — get deployed to a random town to help their corporate overlords take over the world. That's the setup for Gelpiyo, and it goes about as well as you'd expect. Gelpiyo and his pals — Blapiyo, Aopiyo, and the rest of the crew — all have this "Alpha Gel" quality, meaning they literally bounce back from anything. Flattened by a truck? They pop right back. Launched off a building? No problem. Alpha Industry sends them to the strange little place called Geltown to cause chaos and further some vague world domination scheme, but the town has its own ideas. Every time they try to start trouble, they end up getting dragged into whatever weird thing is already happening there, and their plans fall apart in the most ridiculous ways possible. The humor is pure slapstick with anthropomorphic characters bouncing around like stress balls, and the show leans into it hard. There's a distinctive visual style that mixes industrial design elements with softer anime aesthetics, which gives everything a slightly surreal look that fits the tone perfectly. If you liked the chaotic absurdity of Pugyuru or the cozy weirdness of Potemayo, this hits a similar wavelength — cute characters doing dumb things in a world that doesn't make a lot of sense. It's also got that Hidamari Sketch energy where the setting itself becomes a character. Low-stakes, easygoing comedy about incompetent villains who can't stop accidentally having a good time.
