π SYNOPSIS
"Ganbare Genki" follows the story of Horiguchi Genki, a young boy whose mother died at his birth. Raised by his father, a professional boxer nicknamed "Shark," Genki idolizes his father and dreams of becoming a strong boxer like him. Despite his father's career taking a downturn and becoming an itinerant boxer, Genki believes in his father's strength.
After his father's death, Genki is taken in by his grandparents, who disapprove of boxing. Undeterred, Genki secretly continues his training, determined to pursue his boxing aspirations. He encounters various individuals who influence his journey, including Teacher Ashikiwa, who reminds him of his mother, and Mishima, a high school boxing champion. Through these encounters, Genki navigates his path towards becoming a boxer, fueled by his father's legacy and his own unwavering determination.
