Gakuen de Jikan yo Tomare
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After watching his mother work herself to death while his aristocratic father turned his back on them both, the protagonist decides revenge is the only thing left worth pursuing. Not against his father directly — but against everything his father loves. That means his two daughters, Kanako and Hina Tachibana, living comfortably in their elite all-girls academy while he grew up with nothing. A mysterious witch hands him a device that stops time completely, and he uses it to infiltrate their school and systematically dismantle their sense of safety and reality. They have no idea what's happening to them. That helplessness is the entire point. This 4-episode OVA from Suzuki Mirano is dark in a way that doesn't apologize for itself. The time-freezing mechanic isn't just a gimmick — it defines the power imbalance that drives every scene. The animation holds up on character expressions and environment detail, and the soundtrack keeps the atmosphere consistently tense rather than campy. If you've watched Kuroinu or Taimanin Asagi and appreciated stories that commit fully to a grim, revenge-fueled tone rather than undercutting it with humor, this sits comfortably in that same space. It's adapted from a visual novel, so the character motivations feel more developed than most entries in the genre. Don't come in expecting redemption or ambiguity — this is a story about a man who decided the world owes him something, and he's collecting.
