Fumiko's Confession

"Fumiko's Confession" follows the emotional journey of a schoolgirl named Fumiko. The story begins with Fumiko confessing her feelings to a boy, only to be rejected because he prioritizes baseball training. Overwhelmed by sadness, Fumiko runs away, beginning a downhill sprint through the town. As she cries, her speed progressively increases. This independent animation, created by students, explores themes of unrequited love and the physical manifestation of emotional pain. The setting is a town where Fumiko's raw emotions drive her ever-increasing velocity. The animation earned an Award of Excellence at the Tokyo International Anime Award in 2010.
