Synopsis
Throwing every ethical rule out the window is exactly how Etsuko Yamanobe became Tokyo's most popular newscaster. She works at Tokyo Flower Television, she's charming on camera, and behind the scenes she will do absolutely anything to keep her ratings on top, and that's the whole premise this 2-episode OVA is built around. When a disgruntled ex-employee named Marude Damesuke snaps and takes his former boss's daughter hostage, Etsuko smells a career-making story and inserts herself directly into the situation. What unfolds is a dark, satirical poke at media sensationalism wrapped in adult content, the kind of story where the protagonist is not someone you root for exactly, but someone you can't look away from. She's calculated, ruthless, and weirdly compelling for it. The show doesn't pretend she's secretly good-hearted underneath it all. She's just... like that. If you've watched things like Office Lingerie or Foxy Nudes and appreciated the way those titles sneak a narrative thread through the adult content, this scratches a similar itch. It's not deep television, but it's got more personality than you'd expect. the journalism satire gives it a specific flavor that keeps it from feeling generic.
