Fobia

Synopsis
Dispatched from a future where reptilian monsters have taken over and humanity is in serious trouble, time traveler Megumi Iijima has arrived in the present, on a college campus, hunting for someone with the potential to wield her futuristic weaponry and change the course of history before it's too late. The guy she's got her eye on has no idea what he's about to get pulled into. That's the setup for Fobia, a two-episode OVA from 1995 that mashes together creature-horror and adult content in the way a lot of anime from that era did without apology. The horror elements are genuinely dark — these aren't friendly monsters — and the time-travel angle gives the whole thing a pulpy sci-fi edge that separates it from straightforward hentai. The 90s animation has that gritty, hand-drawn texture that either reads as charming or dated depending on your tolerance for the era. If you've seen Demon Beast Invasion or Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend, you already know the general territory — monster horror crossed with explicit content, played completely straight. La Blue Girl fans will also find familiar ground here. It's a short watch, obviously not for everyone, and the content is squarely adult. But if you're curious about that specific corner of late-night 90s OVA culture where horror and hentai overlapped, Fobia is a compact example of exactly that.
