Synopsis
Struggling with the worst kind of creative block — the kind where you can't even draw the stuff you're supposed to be an expert at — hentai mangaka Obana has no coping mechanism beyond fantasizing about his gorgeous editor, Shinonome, who's basically living rent-free in his head. Then, in what might be the most awkward timing in anime history, she walks in on him during a very private moment. Instead of things going completely sideways, this bizarre icebreaker actually kicks off a new arrangement where Shinonome decides to "help" him with his creative process in a much more hands-on way than your typical editor-author relationship. What makes this 2-episode OVA from Studio 1st kind of fun is the meta angle — it's hentai about making hentai, and it leans into the absurdity of that premise with a lighthearted tone. The character designs are genuinely well-done, with expressive faces and detailed art that carry a lot of the appeal. It doesn't take itself too seriously, mixing comedic beats about the adult manga industry with its erotic content in a way that keeps things breezy. If you enjoyed the relationship dynamics in Boku no Yayoi-san or the slice-of-life framing in Aneki no Kounai Kaikinbi, this hits a similar sweet spot. Fans of Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo might also appreciate the production quality here. It's short, it knows exactly what it is, and the manga industry backdrop gives it just enough personality to stand out.
