Fighting of Ecstasy

Surviving in a city that's basically collapsed into itself, martial arts prodigy Kaito finds his world upended when one of the ruling crime syndicates kidnaps his sister. The only way to get her back is to win an underground fighting tournament where the rules are minimal and losing can get you killed. That's the setup for Fighting of Ecstasy, a 2-episode OVA from 2011 based on an erotic game by Crimson. It's short, it's adult-oriented, and it leans hard into the tournament fighter genre. The cast around Kaito includes a rogue assassin trying to make amends for her past, a genetically enhanced soldier with a murky connection to him, and a crime lord who's pulling strings behind the scenes for reasons that aren't immediately clear. The fights blend martial arts with supernatural abilities, and the animation mixes traditional and digital techniques in a way that gives the combat scenes a distinct look. The soundtrack does solid work keeping the tension up during the action. If you've watched Ikkitousen or Queen's Blade and wanted something with a similar blend of fighting and adult content, this sits comfortably in that space. It's also comparable to Tenjho Tenge in its underground-tournament, anything-goes energy. At only two episodes, it's not asking much of your time — it's a short, punchy watch with a reasonably engaging setup.
