Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works is a spectacle of an anime from start to finish. Shirou Emiya is definitely one of those hard-headed protagonists you'll find yourself yelling at. But there's a reason for that, which the anime doesn't quite give you:

A lot of Shirou's internal dialogue gets cut from the anime- dialogue you'll find in the original Fate/stay night visual novel, since Unlimited Blade Works is Route 2. Other than that, it's a fun series with high stakes, strong bonds between Shirou, Rin, Archer, and Saber, and great battles.

I hesitate to call it an action anime because of the nuance. Overall, it's one of my favorites in the Fate series to watch!
