With no memory of how they got there, seven people wake up to find themselves in a blank white room. Keisuke Takatou recognizes the others — his childhood friend, his English teacher, his class president, a junior, two classmates — but familiar faces don't make the situation any less unsettling. A monitor crackles to life and a voice announces that a game is about to begin. Nobody signed up for this. Nobody knows the rules yet. That setup alone carries a genuine sense of dread before anything explicit even happens. Euphoria is a 6-episode OVA adapted from a visual novel, and it leans hard into psychological horror before it leans into anything else. The premise is closer to a survival thriller than what the hentai label might suggest — think the trapped-and-tested structure of Gantz or the claustrophobic group terror of Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, where the horror comes partly from watching people unravel under pressure. If you've seen Mahou Shoujo Site and appreciated how it used extreme content to build genuine dread rather than shock alone, this scratches a similar itch. The character dynamics are actually worth paying attention to — who trusts who, who breaks first, who might know more than they're letting on. Fair warning: this is not a light watch. The content is intentionally extreme and not for everyone. But if you go in knowing that, there's a surprisingly tense psychological thriller underneath.
