Synopsis
Adapted across two episodes from Mame Eda's original manga work, this short anthology OVA from 2014 drops you into a completely different setup with different characters each time. The first episode covers a surprise Christmas Eve visitor with an unusual gift to deliver, then shifts to an archery club captain and her boyfriend finding some after-hours alone time at the range. The second episode moves into idol territory, following a guy named Junichi who gets tangled up between his childhood friend Himeno — now an actual idol — and her rival Rise. No overarching plot connecting everything, just two self-contained adult stories per episode. The tone is explicit and pretty lighthearted throughout, not trying to do anything deeper than what it is. If you've watched something like Baku Ane: Otouto Shibocchau zo! The Animation or Eroge! H mo Game mo Kaihatsu Zanmai and you're familiar with the anthology format those sometimes use, this feels similar in structure and pacing. Fans of Mame Eda's art style from the source manga will probably get the most out of it, since the adaptation stays close to that aesthetic. At only two episodes, the runtime is short enough that it doesn't ask much of you. It's a straightforward adaptation that delivers what it sets out to do without a lot of pretense.
