Dokidoki Little Ooyasan
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Living in a cramped, run-down apartment, broke college student Tanaka Daisuke isn't doing anything unusual. The unusual part is his landlady, Asou Miyuri, who looks like she belongs in middle school but is very much a grown adult woman with a relaxed attitude toward, let's say, alternative rent arrangements. When Daisuke pays up, Miyuri has her own way of saying thank you, and that dynamic is basically the entire premise across six short episodes. Daisuke starts out flustered and overwhelmed by how casually she approaches all of this, while Miyuri is cheerful and completely unbothered. The humor comes from that gap — his awkwardness versus her complete lack of it. Don't go in expecting deep emotional arcs or complex storytelling. This is a short-form OVA from 2018 by Collaboration Works, and it knows exactly what it is: a lighthearted adult comedy built around one very specific running gag of a landlord-tenant situation. If you've watched something like Ooyasan wa Shishunki! and wondered what a more adult version of that neighbor-landlady setup might look like, this scratches that particular itch. The episode runtime keeps things brisk, so it never overstays its welcome. It's a simple premise executed without pretense — which, depending on what you're looking for, is either exactly the point or a reason to skip it entirely.
