Living in a cramped, run-down apartment, broke college student Tanaka Daisuke isn't doing anything unusual. The unusual part is his landlady, Asou Miyuri, who looks like she belongs in middle school but is very much a grown adult woman with a relaxed attitude toward, let's say, alternative rent arrangements. When Daisuke pays up, Miyuri has her own way of saying thank you, and that dynamic is basically the entire premise across six short episodes. Daisuke starts out flustered and overwhelmed by how casually she approaches all of this, while Miyuri is cheerful and completely unbothered. The humor comes from that gap — his awkwardness versus her complete lack of it. Don't go in expecting deep emotional arcs or complex storytelling.
