Discipline Zero

St. Alcadia Academy looks like your typical prestigious boarding school on the surface — strict, polished, full of rules. Then Morimoto Leona arrives, and the whole social order starts bending to her will. Leona isn't just ambitious; she's methodical about control, and nobody at the school is off-limits. Teachers included. Her fellow new boarder Otokawa Saori is along for the ride, while three other students — Yuuki, Ruri, and Maiko — are completely unaware of what's being set in motion around them. This is a 2-episode OVA that functions as a prequel to the original Discipline series, filling in what the academy looked like before its main story kicked off. If you've already seen the first Discipline or something like Bible Black, you'll recognize the formula: a contained institutional setting, a clear power hierarchy, and characters whose relationships shift in very deliberate directions. The tone is serious rather than playful, leaning into the authority-and-submission dynamic with some actual attention to character motivation rather than just jumping straight into scenes. It's not reinventing anything, and at two episodes it doesn't have much room to breathe. But if you're already a fan of the source material or enjoyed something like Discipline: The Hentai Academy, this fills in genuine backstory rather than just being a cash-grab side story. The prequel framing gives Leona's character a bit more weight when you know where things are eventually heading.
