Dinoman: Mudeungsan Gonglyongui Tansaeng
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A dinosaur scientist named Dr. Tru watches his home planet get wiped out by a meteor and barely escapes — only to crash-land into a spaceship headed for Mudeung Mountain in Gwangju, Korea. From there, four dinosaur eggs hatch into anthropomorphic dino heroes led by Dinoman, and they quietly take on the job of protecting Earth. Things stay relatively chill for about three years until a martial arts space robot shows up with a plan to capture endangered animals, and suddenly Dinoman and his crew have to roll out in mecha-style vehicles to deal with an interplanetary threat they weren't exactly prepared for. The whole thing is a movie aimed at kids, and it leans into that with a colorful mix of prehistoric characters, giant robots, and time travel shenanigans that never takes itself too seriously. If your younger siblings or kids enjoyed Dinosaur King or the adventure vibes of Doraemon: Nobita's New Dinosaur, this sits in a similar space — dinosaurs meet sci-fi with enough action to keep things moving. Fans of Gogo Dino Explorers will also find familiar ground here. The Korean setting gives it a slightly different flavor from the usual anime fare, and the blend of mecha combat with goofy anthropomorphic dinosaurs is honestly kind of charming. It's a breezy one-movie watch that doesn't ask much from you except to enjoy some dinos punching robots.
