Synopsis
Don't let the job title fool you, Kiriko Ragawa is not the helpless figure it might suggest: she's a teacher who can handle herself: martial arts-trained, sharp-minded, not the type to back down. So when three masked men corner her in an empty school building, they picked the wrong woman. Two of them are already in the nurse's room before things even get started. That setup alone tells you this isn't a passive story. Based on a manga and adapted into a 3-episode OVA by Shinjukuza in 2002, Daraku leans into a specific kind of tension: the gap between someone's composed, authoritative exterior and the chaos that erupts when that control is challenged. Kiriko's position as a figure of institutional power gets deliberately dismantled, and the series is pretty unflinching about showing that unraveling. The school setting does a lot of work here, giving the whole thing a familiar backdrop that contrasts with how far it goes. It's not subtle about its themes: corruption, authority, moral erosion, but it doesn't pretend to be. If you've watched something like Hot Juicy Teacher and wanted something with a bit more psychological edge to the setup, or if Maken-ki's school-based tension appeals to you but you want a darker, more adult angle, this sits in that neighborhood. Three episodes keeps it tight: no filler, no padding. Just a premise that commits to itself.
