Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze
Oshimeter
Synopsis
At school, they're basically royalty — one sister's a shogi prodigy, one's a karate beast, one's a theater star — and they all live together but barely talk to each other. Then Yuu Ayase, a pretty average guy with zero special talents, moves into their house after losing his mom, and somehow becomes the glue that holds this fractured family together. That's the setup for this 12-episode TV series from P.A. Works, and it works way better than it has any right to. What makes this one click is the contrast. Yuu isn't secretly gifted or hiding some power — he's genuinely ordinary, and the comedy comes from how these incredibly accomplished sisters slowly let their guards down around someone who has nothing to prove. Each sister gets her own dynamic with him, and the show takes its time letting those relationships breathe instead of rushing into romantic territory. The vulnerabilities they show feel earned, not forced. If you liked The Quintessential Quintuplets or We Never Learn, this hits a similar sweet spot — talented girls, one regular dude, a shared living situation — but P.A. Works brings their usual visual polish, so everything just looks clean. It's got that Oreshura energy too, where the comedy stays grounded even when the premise is a little ridiculous. The tone stays light and warm throughout, never trying to be more dramatic than it needs to be. Good comfort watch material.
