Dark Love
Oshimeter
Synopsis
With his childhood friend Ayaka's medical bills piling up and options running out, Tetsuya finds himself desperate for money fast. His wealthy aunt Rikka offers a solution, but the catch is grim: work for the family business, a high-end brothel called Gekkokan, recruiting women to work as hostesses. What starts as a desperate financial arrangement pulls him deeper into a world of corruption, yakuza connections, and rituals that seem to go well beyond anything he bargained for. The dark atmosphere is thick throughout — this is not a lighthearted watch. The moral weight of what Tetsuya is doing sits on the story the whole time, and the supernatural undertones creeping in around the edges give it an unsettling edge that separates it from straightforward adult content. If you've seen Bible Black or Discipline: The Record of a Crusade and appreciated how those leaned into darker, more narrative-driven territory, this sits in similar company. The character designs are detailed, the soundtrack genuinely adds to the oppressive mood, and the story has more going on underneath than the premise initially suggests. At two OVA episodes, it's a short commitment. Fans of Night Shift Nurses who want something with a slightly more gothic, plot-forward angle might find this worth a look.
