Crazy Over His Fingers
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Working her way up as a salon assistant with dreams of becoming a hairdresser, Fumi Hoshiya finds her manager Sousuke Nanase to be exactly the kind of mentor she both fears and admires — skilled, demanding, and magnetic. After-hours, he offers to help her practice her shampooing technique. That session goes somewhere neither of them expected. That's the setup for 'Crazy Over His Fingers,' an 8-episode ONA from Magic Bus adapted from the josei manga, and it leans fully into the tension of a mentor-mentee dynamic crossing some obvious lines. The salon setting actually works in its favor — it's intimate in a way that feels grounded rather than random, and the close-quarters nature of hairdressing makes the charged moments feel less out of nowhere than they might in another context. Each episode is short, so the pacing moves quickly without a lot of buildup getting in the way. There are two versions floating around — a censored cut and an uncensored online release — so depending on your preference, you have options. If you've watched something like 'Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni...' or 'Amai Choubatsu' and enjoyed that slow-burn forbidden relationship energy, this hits a similar note. It's not trying to be anything other than what it is — a sensual story about two people in a professional space where the boundaries quietly dissolve. Straightforward, competently made, and easy to finish in one sitting.
