Synopsis

After discovering the face of their true enemy—someone who is related to Akito and responsible for the Geass placed upon him—W-0 attempts to return to their base at Castle Weisswolf. However, stranded in Warsaw due to a complication involving their military identification, they are forced to accept the help of local gypsies, allowing the squad to take some time to deepen their bonds. Meanwhile, Britannian advisor Julius Kingsley and his guard Suzaku Kururugi begin working together with the Knights of St. Michael in order to crush the European resistance once and for all, armed with the destructive power of a giant weapon known as the Ark Fleet. Quick Takes

The brother reveal between Akito and Shin is the emotional core this series needed. Their dynamic adds real stakes beyond just the war. The Warsaw downtime scenes were a nice change of pace from constant battles. Some of the Geass lore felt a bit shoehorned in compared to the main series though.
SHIN IN THE GOLDEN KNIGHTMARE VS AKITO WAS SO INTENSE!! This was such a huge change going from Lelouch and rolo to whatever this is LMAOOO
The encounter with Shin's golden Knightmare is the highlight here, finally bringing the two brothers face to face in combat. The revelation about their relationship lands well because of the buildup from previous episodes. The stranded-in-Warsaw subplot gives the cast time to breathe and develop bonds, which the series needed. Some of the mystical elements around the Geass feel a bit underdeveloped compared to the main series, but the overall direction is engaging.
