Choujin Densetsu Urotsukidouji: Inferno Road Jain Kanzenban

Synopsis
Something close to the end of the world has already come and gone. Urotsukidoji: Inferno Road picks up after the devastation left by the Overfiend, following a ragged group of survivors riding through a ruined Japan in a futuristic tank. Their destination is Osaka. Their goal is a confrontation with a god-like demon that may or may not care whether they live or die. Along the way, they stumble into a deeply wrong civilization where children have seized control and adults are the oppressed class, all under the thumb of a ruler named Ellis. It's the kind of detour that turns a road trip into a nightmare. This is a movie-length compilation of the Inferno Road OVA arc, with some new footage folded in, so it moves fast and hits hard. The tone is unrelentingly dark — bleak dystopian horror with demons, violence, and a mythology that has genuine weight to it. The Urotsukidoji series helped define what adult horror anime looked like in the West during the early nineties, alongside titles like Wicked City and Demon Beast Invasion. If those scratched a particular itch for you, this fits that same corner of the shelf. La Blue Girl fans who want something heavier and less campy will also find this sits in familiar territory. It's not comfortable viewing, and it's not trying to be. The lore is dense, the world is grim, and the series carries real genre history behind it.
