It´s sort of a mix of various Ghibli movies elements, I think that´s why sometimes gives the impression of have already watched that; however it is a great movie treating themes like duel, having beautiful character design and more.
The animation is on par with recent anime, and the overall vibe is so relaxing. The soundtrack is wonderful as well. I kind of felt bad for Shun, but I loved their journey to Agartha. It really teaches you how to cope with the loss of a loved one. I absolutely loved it!
A great movie! I loved the soundtrack, the animation, and the mysterious atmosphere throughout the story. We get to explore Agartha, also known as the Land of the Dead, with Asuna as the main character. The movie is incredibly exciting to watch, featuring a beautiful story filled with meaning and stunning scenery. Definitely recommended!
Is a wonderful movie, the animation style and music combine perfectly in that fantasy world, is important the message it leaves, talking about how necessary and natural is for us to learn let go some things or people. All characters represent a different way of dealing with a loss and I loved the film.
You know, I'll be honest, this feels mote like a display of artistic prowess from the production team more than anything else. The vivid settings, the creature designs, and the fight scene animations all seem to have been made with much love and effort, which I applaud. However, storywise, it's full of loose ends witn entire plot elements abandoned altogether and making it a confusing mess in its entire runtime. Although, the theme of letting go became the adhesive that binds it all up until the end. If you ask me, this would nicely fit the criteria for an "edgy ghibli movie" and if that's what you prefer, you would definitely enjoy this film.
What a great anime movie with a calm atmosphere and beautiful animation, featuring incredible attention to details. I can't believe this movie came out almost 15 years ago - it still looks amazing. It's so underrated. The storyline and the characters are both awesome and enjoyable to watch.
With Asuna, we got the chance to visit the mysterious land of Agatha. The animation felt so beautiful that I thought just beside her while she was having such a journey. Moreover, the story was brilliantly woven. And it always feels like a treat to our eyes to rewatch!
