Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A broke, lonely teenager fused with a chainsaw devil, Denji now works as a government-employed devil hunter. His life is mostly about chasing girls, eating good food, and cutting demons in half, sometimes all in the same day. This movie picks up after the dust settles from his first major fight with Public Safety, and it zeroes in on something the TV season only hinted at: Denji actually trying to connect with someone. He meets Reze, a girl working at a café, and for a little while things feel almost normal. Almost. This is still Chainsaw Man, so that warmth comes wrapped in something way more dangerous than it looks. The Reze Arc is one of the most popular stretches of the manga for a reason: it's where the series gets genuinely romantic and genuinely brutal at the same time, and MAPPA's animation is built for exactly that kind of tonal whiplash. The action sequences are fluid and visceral, and the soundtrack pulls you deeper into the late-90s alternate Japan setting than the TV season managed. If you liked the emotional gut punches in Devilman Crybaby or the cursed romance energy of Tokyo Ghoul, this hits a similar nerve. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen's dark action will feel at home too, though Chainsaw Man leans harder into its messy, punk-rock heart. It's a love story, but just not a safe one.

sooo emotional
It so cool I feel like I just found my new favorite show and movie
Truly one of the best anime movies that i have seen so far, the fact that this movie includes a lot of action, romance and even great soundtrack is really worth the watch
Really enjoyed this one, the animation stays good the whole time. Denji and Reze’s chemistry stands out a lot, and the action with the soundtrack just works really well.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH. The action and animation had my eyes peeled to the screen the entire time. There’s not one boring moment in this movie. Beam is now one of my favorite characters after this movie because he’s so hilarious.
DENJI!!! LOOK BACKKKK!!! DENJIIIIII!!!!!! LOOIKKKKK BACKKKKKKK
I cannot even explain with words what the reze arc is. Every single frame that you experience is filled with emotions and beautiful art style. I never thought that a film could impact me as this did. Sometimes I still think about it and realese even more how much effort and passion Fujimoto put in his work. I will never forget and still hope to see it one more time to experience it all over again.
This adaptation blew me away. Unreal experience in cinema, with the soundtrack, visuals and emotions. And made me feel so much more for the story than before. Denji and Reze one of the very best relationships in anime. This is probably the best anime movie I have seen.
Absolutely insane 🤩

Genuinely the greatest Shonen Movie out there. This movie straight up did not feel like an anime movie, from the pacing to the cinematic shots to the colors, the soundtrack, ... Everything felt unreal and very cinematic.
Masterpiece of a movie. MOVIE OF THE YEAR. I knew it would lose to demon slayer but it shouldn't have. It's amazing. Watched it 10 times. Amazing animation, characters, action, emotional moments, the music was great. Loved Reze and Denji so much. I hate Makima so much.
The perfect emotional has shown a hard line story for this anime.
