Call of the Night

The best part of Call of the Night is its atmosphere. The nightscapes, music, and visuals are beautiful, but beyond that, I struggled to connect with the characters or feel invested in the story. Aesthetic-wise it’s great, but it didn’t hook me.

Good premise, I must say. I liked the attention to detail in the backgrounds, they’re very well done, and I like that they use different colors for the night sky, which keeps it from being monotonous to see the same starry sky all the time. I find it funny how Nazuna blushes when talking about her feelings or cute things, but when it comes to sex (literally), she doesn’t. As for the protagonist, I’m not quite convinced yet.

Feels like a detour at first, but there’s actually something deeper about attention, identity, and validation underneath. Not the strongest ep, but it adds texture to the world and its people.

Side characters finally get depth, and it hits harder than expected. The show explores relationships in a more bittersweet way here—less fantasy, more consequence. Definitely one of the more emotionally loaded eps.
