I willl say, it's good to explore the familiar relationship and significance with Dio, Aoba, and even Hina. Their contrasting family dynamics lets it show what matters for each of them. However, the lack of Aoba's understanding for the other's cast motivation makes his dynamic with Cygnus the most shallow in the show so showing him hesitating to go home doesn't make sense when he only cares but doesn't love the Cygnus crew.
