Synopsis
While most young girls make an effort to show off their feminine charms, Futaba Yoshioka deliberately behaves like she wants to repel anyone who might be attracted to her. Ostracized by her female classmates in middle school for being a little too popular with the boys, she desperately strives to avoid a similar situation in high school by being unnecessarily noisy and graceless. Nevertheless, scattered among Futaba's unpleasant memories are the treasured moments with the boy she had a crush on, Kou Tanaka. Unfortunately, that spell abruptly ended on a sour note when he suddenly stopped attending school and never came back. When Futaba finds out that Kou has returned—with a different last name this time—she can already feel the butterflies in her stomach. However, Kou Mabuchi is not the warm boy that she remembers from her days in middle school; he is now taller, more charismatic and withdrawn—making him far less approachable. Futaba believes that if she returns to her former self, Kou will begin to take notice of her again. But is she prepared to sacrifice her bubble of normalcy and risk losing her friends in the process?

The anime is incomplete, it ends before the real story finishes.
I’m really curious about Kou’s past and what he’s been through. The little romantic moments got me blushing, and his calm, composed attitude just makes him even more interesting.
I really get the emotions here. It feels close to what a lot of us go through with social pressures. I like Makita’s personality a lot, and I’m hoping she and Futaba become really close friends.
This is the first episode, but I couldn't stop smiling for the entire time. I'm a bit envious whenever I see this kind of slow burn between high schoolers. I probably would be glued and see what happens.
The final episode is packed with warm, emotional moments✨. Kou starts opening up to his family and friends, which makes everything feel more real and heartfelt. As summer vacation begins, it feels like the end of one chapter and the start of something new☀️🌸.
This episode really showed how Kou struggled in the past, and it felt so real 😭. Then the library scene suddenly lit up everything, it was such a funny and awkward moment for Futaba 😂😂. The ending of this episode felt like everything came pouring out ✨😭.
This episode lowkey hurts in a soft way 😭😭. Futaba finally realized what had changed Kou. Futaba and Yuuri's friendship, despite liking the same guy, is honestly adorable.
Kominato standing up for Kou shows that he values their friendship. Plus, the plan made by Yuuri and Futaba, together with Kominato and Murao, was pretty good 👍
I felt like Futaba, Murao, and Yuuri got closer in this episode. Their conversation felt like a confession, to be honest 😭☕. Watching Kou and Futaba share that tense night encounter really had my heart racing ❤️🌙
It's hard to watch Futaba try to tell Yuuri how she feels about Kou, but also hold back because she doesn't want to lose her only best friend 😭😭😭
Lol! The way Kominato tries to act like a gentleman but fails miserably in front of Murao, while a love triangle between Yuuri, Futaba, and Kou is definitely happening!!!
It's good to see Yuuri and Futaba getting closer😊 The little moments between Futaba & Kou, and all five of them watching the sunrise together, are so wholesome. But the ending plot twist!! I saw it coming from miles away 😭😭💀
Watching Futaba and Kou be late for the bus was funny!! 🏃♀️💨Not to mention, Yuuri's fury over that stolen cupcake is so relatable💢 The whole group together was pure chaos!!
I'm obsessed with how Futaba just reinvented herself in this episode. No more faking it and Kou appearing in her class!!?? Love that change! It's giving "fresh start" energy ✨
Yay!! Futaba finally starts finding herself, and she stands out for Yuuri. Tension with Kou is insane. The ending made me so emotional and heartwarming ❤️❤️❤️
OMG!! The nostalgia hit like a truck! 😭Futaba is literally me trying to act "unattractive" just to keep her girl group from being toxic. Then Kou shows up after 3 years, and he's a total mood, cold... but still caring?? I like the watercolor vibes a lot ✨✨
Whew, this episode starts off kinda suspicious and makes Yoshioka overthink a lot. But since she’s the type to speak up, she finds out what’s really going on, and the vibe turns emotional fast. Also, I really love the bond in their friend group!
This episode starts off really heavy because of Kou’s past trauma. The study scene gives us a funny embarrassing moment for Yoshioka lol. Then it shifts back to Kou and Yoshioka trying to help, and the vibe turns emotional. The animation really supports those scenes well.
The last episode is full of heartwarming moments. Kou finally opens up more, not just with Yoshioka, but also with his family and friends. I love the dynamic between Yoshioka and her friends, they’re so energetic. Please continue this anime 😭
