Bishoujo Animerama: Gokkun Doll - Choujigen Pico-chan Toujou!!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When her boyfriend goes missing under strange circumstances — turns out he had a thing for insects, and now he's nowhere to be found — a young model barely has time to spiral into helplessness before a tiny elf named Pico shows up and offers to help. What follows is a genuinely weird journey that takes them soaring over Tokyo at night, messing around on top of Tokyo Tower, and somehow accidentally generating enough energy to punch through into a demon world ruled by an insect king with very specific ideas about what to do with a human model. It's strange, it's campy, and it leans into its absurdity without apology. The real hook here is the format — this is a 1990 OVA that blends hand-drawn animation with live-action footage, which gives it this lo-fi surreal texture you don't really see anymore. It's one episode, so it doesn't overstay its welcome. If you've watched anything else in the Bishoujo Animerama series — like Manami no Michi Tono Sou Nyuu or Miyuki-chan SOS-H Shichauzo — you already know the kind of energy this one runs on. Sci-fi framing wrapped around fantasy weirdness with a school-age aesthetic throughout. It's a curiosity piece more than anything else, genuinely interesting as an artifact of early 90s experimental OVA production, and short enough that the commitment is basically zero.
