Synopsis

In every sense the golden boy, charismatic, untouchable, destined to build his own kingdom, Griffith seemed born to rule. By the time this movie starts, he's been rotting in a dungeon for a year, tortured beyond recognition. Guts, the walking tank who left the Band of the Hawk to find his own purpose, comes back to find his former comrades broken, hunted, and barely holding together under Casca's leadership. They mount a desperate rescue mission to save Griffith, and what they find changes everything. That's the setup. What follows is one of the most infamous sequences in anime and manga history, and I genuinely cannot tell you more without ruining it. This is the third and final Golden Age Arc movie from Studio 4°C, and it earns every bit of its horror tag. The blend of traditional and CG animation works surprisingly well here, especially when things get surreal, and Shiro Sagisu's score paired with Susumu Hirasawa's haunting vocals gives the whole thing this oppressive, almost ritualistic atmosphere. Themes of ambition, betrayal, and what people sacrifice for their dreams hit harder here than in anything else I've watched. If you're into the brutal medieval tone of Vinland Saga or the demonic escalation of Devilman Crybaby, this is the movie that arguably paved the way for both. Fair warning though, this one stays with you, and not in a comfortable way. Watch the first two Golden Age films before this, then brace yourself.

This movie was honestly hard to watch, but in the best way. The atmosphere, the music, and the way everything slowly falls apart made the whole thing feel incredibly disturbing and unforgettable. I already knew Berserk was dark, but this took things to another level. What I liked most was how much the movie focused on ambition, betrayal, and the sacrifices people are willing to make for their dreams. Guts and Griffith's relationship hits especially hard after everything they've been through. The animation isn't perfect, but when the story gets surreal and chaotic, it works surprisingly well. The soundtrack also adds so much to the experience. Definitely not a comfortable watch, and I can understand why some people might find it too much. But as the conclusion to the Golden Age Arc, it leaves a lasting impact. If you've watched the first two movies, you absolutely need to see this one.

Dark, brutal, and emotionally devastating. The Advent takes everything built up in the previous movies and pushes it to an unforgettable conclusion. The atmosphere is haunting, the action is intense, and the story goes into some seriously disturbing territory. The animation and soundtrack work especially well together, creating a bleak and almost nightmarish experience. Definitely not an easy watch, but if you’re already invested in Berserk , this is a movie that stays with you.
