A phenomenal, dark, and gritty beginning to an epic saga.
The Egg of the King does a fantastic job of establishing the brutal world of Berserk and the fascinating, complex dynamic between Guts and Griffith. The action sequences are intense, the dark fantasy atmosphere is unmatched, and the high-stakes storytelling kept me completely hooked from start to finish.
The only minor drawback is that some of the early 3D CGI animation feels a bit stiff compared to the stunning traditional 2D art. However, the sheer strength of the plot, the gripping character development, and the incredible musical score easily make this a must-watch. It’s an excellent, high-tier adaptation that sets up the rest of the trilogy perfectly!
