the Basroil and Seigroil getting damaged by enemy mines and ending up stranded with the enemy fleet on the way is the show's first real action-driven episode and it handles the tension beautifully. there's no bombast — just a quiet creeping dread as systems fail and repair timelines become increasingly optimistic. the crew's response to the crisis reveals character efficiently without stopping to explain itself. Lafiel's command instincts under genuine pressure are compelling to watch and the dynamic between her and the crew in a crisis situation has a different quality than in normal patrol — everyone is slightly more raw. a tense and well constructed episode.
