I'm not okay after "Hero." Like genuinely sat there stunned for a minute after it ended. The whole buildup with the Beast Titan had me white-knuckling it, and then Erwin's charge happens and I just... I knew what it meant and it still wrecked me. Watching him lead that suicide charge, arm already gone, screaming at his soldiers to keep going, that's one of the most gut-punch moments in anime period. And then Levi. Levi going full rampage mode was insane to watch animation-wise, but it's what happens right after that got me. Having to choose between saving Erwin or using the serum on Armin, that's not a fair choice to give anyone, and the show doesn't let you off easy either. The animation, the pacing, the sheer weight of every decision, it all comes together perfectly here. This is the episode where AoT stops being "really good anime" and becomes something else entirely. 10/10, no notes, one of the best single episodes I've ever watched.
