It's refreshing to see an anime protagonist who isn't driven by an unwavering desire to save everyone he comes across (*cough cough Kouki). Throughout this episode, it's pretty evident that Hajime makes many of his decisions rationally and sticks his neck out only for the people he loves, while extending that care to those important to them as well.
The episode also had some genuinely hilarious moments. The distraction scene in particular had me laughing way more than I expected.
