Another Lady Innocent
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Sheltered and newly returned from studying abroad, Faye is the daughter of a wealthy Civil War-era landowner who quickly falls back into close, intimate relationships with her childhood friend John and her devoted maid Sophia. Life feels warm and contained — until Lord Mark enters the picture, an enigmatic figure with unsettling interest in Faye and no apparent interest in taking no for an answer. The peaceful world she came home to starts feeling a lot less safe. This is a one-episode OVA from Arms studio, and its biggest draw is honestly the visual quality. Character designs come from Satoshi Urushihara, whose detailed, expressive style elevates the whole production well above the genre average. The American Civil War backdrop is an unusual choice that gives it a period drama atmosphere you don't see often — think lace, estates, and underlying tension rather than anything action-heavy. It's a short watch, so there's no complex plotting to follow, just a focused character situation that builds toward an inevitable confrontation. If you've seen Bible Black or anything in the Discipline: The Record of a Crusade vein and appreciated when the genre puts genuine effort into atmosphere and art direction, this scratches that same itch. It's not trying to be La Blue Girl — the tone here leans into restrained historical drama before things unravel. For what it is, the production care shows.
